The invited speakers were: Professor Simon Hubbard (University of Manchester) is interested in characterising the transcriptomes and proteomes of chicken and yeast. He is particularly interested in discovering and elucidating the function of non-coding RNAs, alternatively spliced protein isoforms and intergenic regulatory elements. Dr Julian Venables (Lead Scientist at the CNRS Institute of Molecular Genetics at Montpellier) is interested in alternative splicing in cancer.
